PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPAR)-α ligand agent preventing and treating hyperlipemia, arteriosclerotic diseases, etc., through activating PPAR-α. SOLUTION: The peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPAR)-α ligand agent comprises a 2-pyrone derivative of formula (1) (wherein, R is an alkyl; R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are each H, methyl, phenyl or a halogen atom; and n 1 is an integer of 1 or 2) as the active ingredient.
