DETECCIÓN DE PROTEÍNAS DE FASE AGUDA EN CERDOS AFECTADOS CLÍNICAMENTE POR EL SÍNDROME DE ADELGAZAMIENTO MULTISISTÉMICO POST-DESTETE

2008
The objective of this study was to compare the serum levels of three acute phase proteins (APPs): haptoglobin (HP), C reactive protein (CRP) and serum amyloid A (SAA) in pigs clinically affected by PMWS and healthy specific pathogen free (SPF) pigs and to determine the possible relationship between the severity of lesions in PMWS affected pigs and the concentrations of these APPs. The levels of all three APPs studied were statistically significant higher in PMWS affected pigs than in SPF control pigs. A correlation with trend to statistical significance (p=0,072) between the score of microscopic lung lesions and SAA levels was found.
