The status of clinical practice teaching in teaching hospitals from clinical teachers’ perspective

Objective To study the status of clinical practice teaching and management in the teaching hospitals of Anhui Medical University (AHMU), for providing the reference for establishing the e-valuation system of clinical teachers’ teaching ability. Methods Questionnaires were designed to survey 340 clinical teachers’ teaching of 7 teaching hospitals. Results There was statistical difference of the results between the clinical teachers with different titles in the teaching hospitals directly and indirectly affiliated to AHMU. There was also statistical difference in the evaluation of teaching management by clinical teachers in the two kinds of teaching hospitals. There was difference in the management of students among 7 teaching hospitals, such as emphasis of training of students, difficulty of departmental rotation exams, frequency of giving clinical lecture and students’ opportunity to participate in diagnosing and operative procedures. Conclusions An admittance-training-assessment system of clinical teaching bases must be established to improve clinical teaching quality of teaching hospitals.
