Microcellular Foamed PVC/Wood-fiber Composites

2002
Foreign experimental investigation has successfully demonstrated the feasibility of developing microcellular structures in PVC/cellulose-fiber composites, but a higher void fraction could not be achieved. Many factors such as the surface modification of PVC matrix and cellulose-fiber,processing conditions all affected the cell morphology and physical properties.Aimed at PVC/cellulose-fiber composites, the effect of conditions such as the content of plasticizer in polymer matrix, surface modification of wood fiber, foaming time and foaming temperature on foamability, cell morphology and physical properties of the product were studied,so as to make clear relationships of processing conditions, cell morphology and mechanical properties.
