Knowledge Management as a Critical Factor of an organization’s Sustainability

2021
Knowledge Management (KM) permeates the entire organization, influencing the most diverse organizational processes, whether work, behavioral or change processes. These processes, in turn, are responsible for the impacts on the sustainability indicators of organizations, such as products or results. In this sense, the objective of this study is to identify how KM influences organizational sustainability through the governance, economic, environmental and social dimensions, focusing on higher education institutions, from the perspective of their processes as an organization, and has a secondary objective to the proposition of a representative framework. To meet the above objectives, this research uses the Fast-Systematic Literature Review data collection technique. The search process was performed in two stages, considering the low number of articles that considered the context studied. Thus, the results show that KM has been applied more frequently to the environmental and governance dimensions and that it can favor, through organizational processes, the sustainable development of an organization. As a contribution of the research, there is greater integration between the themes studied, as well as the strengthening of the research field of KM.
