The invention discloses a method for efficiently scarfing surface defects of a continuous casting sheet billet, which is characterized in that the flame scarfing is performed at upper and lower T/4 positions along the thickness direction of both sides of the continuous casting sheet billet, the scarfing depth is between 2 and 8mm, the scarfing width is t, and the t needs to satisfy the following condition: the t is equal to 12.5+0.15 x T +/- 10mm, wherein the T is the thickness of the continuous casting sheet billet, and the unit is mm. The method overcomes the disadvantages that the prior method has large scarfing area, large labor intensity of workers and so on. The method has the advantages of accurate scarfing positions of the continuous casting sheet billet, small scarfing area, easy operation, high production efficiency and so on.
