Performance Modelling of Software Systems in UML-Tools for the Software Developmer
2002
In this paper, we briefly address the requirements and restrictions but also the potential of enriching UML models with performance annotations in order to allow an early and fast prediction of the performance properties of a software system. We then propose an annotation concept, focused on deployment and sequence diagrams to represent structure and behaviour respectively. Particular emphasis is placed on using unobtrusive, intuitive annotations and on compatibility with commercially available and widely used UML-tools. The integration concept and its current implementation status are described.
