The formation of a fibrinogen-activator complex by the action of streptokinase

1977
Abstract The interaction of isotopically labelled plasminogen with streptokinase in the presence of fibrinogen results in the complete degradation of streptokinase and the formation of a plasminogen activator which forms a complex with fibrinogen. This plasminogen activator is free of streptokinase and forms this complex only when generated in the presence of fibrinogen. No such complex forms when streptokinase activator is generated prior to the addition of fibrinogen.
