Postpartum obsessive compulsive disorder: A review -
2007
Postpartum period is a vulnerable period for development of
psychiatric disorders. Despite large number of studies focusing on
postpartum depression and psychosis, there are few other studies
reporting that aggravation or even alleviation of anxiety disorders
such as obsessive compulsive disorder in this period. Therefore, the
presence of obsessions and/or compulsions should be carefully
evaluated among all patients in postpartum period. In this article, the
epidemiology, etiology and clinical features of postpartum obsessive
compulsive disorder are reviewed and management through
cognitive behavioral therapy and pharmacotherapy in comparison
with other obsessive compulsive patients are evaluated based on
previous literature
