The correlation between phenytoin, cyclosporine, and nifedipine therapy and gingival hyperplasia is discussed, and effective oral hygiene procedures used as preventive measures are evaluated in the context of several clinical studies. A correlation is found between phenytoin, cyclosporine, and nifedipine therapy and gingival hyperplasia. A regimen of effective oral hygiene procedures can be a preventive measure. The results of several clinical studies are summarized.
