It is well known that, in previously sensitized subjects, contact allergens or systemic exposure can trigger cutaneous and/or systemic hypersensitivity reactions. Hypersensitivity to nickel is common and its clinical aspects easy to recognize. Eczema to wrist watches, jean’s buttons or necklaces are typical examples of nickel allergy (1, 11, 18, 19, 21).
