A study of the literature and collections in herbaria yields 27 families, 53 genera, and 167 species and infraspecies of hepatics and hornworts (Marchantiophyta and Anthocerotophyta) from the state of florida. Most species (44%) have distributions in the n orthern h emisphere, 42% tropical, 10% widespread, and 4% endemic to f lorida. t wenty-four dubious and excluded taxa are listed.
