The present invention provides a pick and place apparatus and method of application, the pick and place device comprises a conveyor belt, a supporting member, a plain member, a robot arm, a first sensing means and a control means, a first sensing means sensing the position of the article is located outside the carrier member and the carrier member on the space, control means controlling the manipulator according to the sensing result of the first sensing means located at said pickup carrier outer member article and placed in a gap in the carrier member. Thus, the pick and place device of the present invention requires only one conveyor and a robotic arm to pick and place articles realized, compared with a conventional pick and place device requires at least two conveyor belts, reducing the footprint, reducing cost; in addition, since only without using a pick and place robot arm accurately calculate time, accurate to fill vacancies, improve work efficiency.
