Thermography Assessment of Energy Efficiency of Buildings, Industrial Plants and Heating Plants

2017
Digital infrared thermal imaging is a predictive maintenance technique that can be used to monitor the condition of machinery in industrial plants. It uses in-strumentation designed to scan the emission of infrared electromagnetic radiation. An infrared inspection as a nondestructive technique for detecting thermal anoma-lies, areas with temperature higher or lower that it should be, enable an experienced operator to locate and define incipient problems with plant equipment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the energy efficiency of certain buildings, industrial plants, heating plants and other places where energy is lost, by using a thermogra-phy method.
