On Translation Errors in the English Websites of Local Governments:from the Perspective of Skopostheorie

Skopostheorie,characterized by its target-orientedness and its focus on non-literary texts,can be effectively applied to the English translation of Chinese websites of local governments.By referring to related Chinese websites,the paper makes use of the three rules of Skopostheorie to classify and analyze translation errors in such aspects as English standard,diction,grammar and even common sense of the English websites of Changzhou and its CND and then puts forward practical suggestions and strategies for the correcting of such errors as studied above.
