The testing of insulating materials

Abstract ERA Technology has devised a set of standardised tests which can be used to assess the performance of materials for different aspects of electrical low voltage switching applications. Different moulding materials were studied in conjunction with one contact materials, with the primary objective of investigating the effect of the moulding materials on tracking, welding and prolonged arcing in the switching system.
