The heroic undertaking of Zheng He’s trip to the West greatly promoted the prosperity and development of Ming Dynasty’s oceanic literature,which followed Song and Yuan Dynasties’ oceanic literature and became another peak. Firstly,it broadened creators’ horizons,who not only inherited pioneering spirit of oceanic culture from Song and Yuan Dynasties’ oceanic literature,but displayed more active pursuit of overseas things,which was unique in Ming Dynasty. Secondly,it promoted the diversity of types of Ming Dynasty’s oceanic literature,which made novel,poetry,drama and inscription the artistic carriers for Ming Dynasty’s oceanic activities. Thirdly,it enriched the themes of Ming Dynasty’s oceanic literature,and fully revealed navigation techniques,oceanic trading,overseas relationships,cultural exchanges,oceanic gods,overseas things,consciousness of coastal defense and so on.
