A suspension consists of insoluble solid particles dispersed in aliquid medium. The suspension typically consists of uniform par-ticles that are readily suspended and easily dispersed. Suspensiondosage forms include oral suspensions, topical suspensions, andsuspensions for aerosols. Sterile suspension dosage forms includesuspensions for injection (subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intra-articular) and suspensions for ophthalmic or otic administration.Some suspensions are ready for use, while others consist of solidpowdermixtureswhich need to be reconstitutedwith a vehicle priorto use. In addition, some suspensions are prepared from tablets.1
