Application of Genomic DNA Markers in Genetic Diversity of Safflower Germplasm

2011
Safflower(Carthamus tinctorius L.) is an important oilseed and medicinal crop with high economic value. However, because of the wide geographical spread and jumbled germplasm resources of safflower, the full exploitation and utilization of safflower resources were limited. With the rapid development of molecular marker techniques in recent years, the classification of germplasm resources and the molecular assistant breeding of safflower were greatly benefited from them.Advances were summarized in genetic diversity research of safflower by using molecular marker such as RAPD,AFLP,ISSR,RAMP and SRAP.The further application of molecular markers in safflower genetic diversity and germplasm research was discussed.
