A study of L * instability, a common low-frequency non-acoustic instability, was investigated and applied to a solid propellant pintle thruster. Parameters of the thruster chamber and propellant are used to fraw the L * stability criteria curve, which will determine the L * stability at each position of the pintle(0 mm, 10 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm, 40 mm). Results show the critical point and proposes a stable operating range of the pintle.
