A Fuzzy Decision Making Model for Information Technology Strategy Selection

2014
Selecting the appropriate information technology (IT), is an important strategic decisions in formulating a technology strategy. This kind of problem consists of various tangible and intangible criteria which contain uncertainty and incomplete information. The present study deals with the IT selection as a fuzzy multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problem. In this regard, first the criteria for IT selection are determined through a comprehensive survey of the related literature. Then AHP method is applied to calculate the relative importance of these criteria. Finally fuzzy TOPSIS method is used for the purpose of ranking IT alternatives based on the selection criteria. The feasibility of the proposed model is demonstrated by a numerical example.
