The data on the total composition of carotenoids in diplod and triploid oysters Crassostrea gigas (Thunberg), bred in the «France Turbot», and also bred and grown in a nursery IBSS were obtained. Six major carotenoids isolated from all oysters Crassostrea gigas have been identified as crassostreaxanthin A, crassostreaxanthin B, alloxanthin, diatoxathin, halocynthiaxanthin and pectenol A. The possible path way of transformation and accumulation of these carotenoids in the tissues of oysters have been proposed.
