A Filmic Adventure: Women in Polygynous Marriages in Oman

This article takes the reader on the adventurous journey of the making of a documentary on women’s changing roles in the polygynous marital system in the Sultanate of Oman. An extensive quantitative and qualitative survey conducted over a 5-year period offers an insiders’ view on the issue providing unique perspectives of women in the role of the main protagonists. The aim of this article is to reflect on the experience of “the making of” such a documentary from the researcher’s perspective.
