Some Designs of Nb3Sn Conductors for Special Accelerator Magnets

Although the main ring magnets for the SSC are to be made from NbTi, there may be reasons, in the future, to upgrade at least some magnets to operate at higher fields. This could be particularly true for beam handling magnets. Nb3Sn is an obvious candidate for such applications and, in this paper we outline various processes that could be used to produce high current, low loss, economical material suitable for such magnets. The latest data on two different designs of these materials will be presented.
