The total cross section for incoherent scattering: An analytical result and a clarification

An analytical result for the total scattering cross section as a function of the electron to ion temperature ratio is derived. The result is valid for large values of the temperature ratio and for small values of the ratio of the Debye length to the wavelength. A comparison with the results of numerical integration and with previous analytical results is made.
