Use of hydrides in motor vehicles

1980
Hydrogen storage in form of metal hydrides offers a series of interesting technical applications. The dual function of heat and fuel storage in hydrides is described as well for the application in vehicles as for stationary use. The operational possibilities of low (like TiFeH2) and high temperature hydrides (like Mg2Ni-H4), the heat storage and heat recovery with the aid of hydrides and possibilities for hydrogen production and distribution are discussed.
