A Method to Suppress Vibration Due to Fabrication Tolerance by Using Triple Three-Phase Winding Motor

2019
Permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) are widely used in a variety of applications. Static eccentricity of rotor and roundness degradation of stator are among common faults at the fabrication process. These faults cause unbalance electromagnetic force and exert unexpected vibration at the design process. This research investigates the impact of these faults on the time and spatial harmonic distribution of electromagnetic force and vibration. Moreover, a compensation method have been proposed to suppress vibration caused by these faults due to static eccentricity and roundness degradation by using triple three phase winding motor. The system of triple three phase winding motor rely on three independent sets of windings dedicated to control electromagnetic force in each winding. Therefore, the unbalance electromagnetic force can be restored and the vibration can be reduced by the system. The effectiveness of the proposal method is verified by Finite Element Analysis.
