Volume properties of the molten systems MF–K2TaF7 (MF = LiF, NaF and KF)
2017
Based on experimental density measurements, molar volumes, excess molar volumes and partial molar volumes were calculated for the systems MF–K2TaF7 (MF = LiF, NaF and KF) at 1273 K. Excess partial molar volumes of K2TaF7 and MF at infinite dissolution were also calculated. Based on these values, the overall volume contraction was identified. This volume contraction consists of two contributions: a volume contraction induced by the association reaction of [TaF7]2− and F− anions, and cationic volume contraction.
