Aortoduodenal fistula six weeks after EVAR for abdominal aortic aneurysm: a case report.

2009
AbstractThe technique of endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm has markedly improved over the years, showing a lower 30-day mortality rate compared to the open technique. Despite improvements, the percentage of reinterventions remains high due to late failure. A rare but severe complication of EVAR is the development of an aortoduodenal fistula, which has a very high mortality rate. The pathogenesis still remains unclear.
