Performance evaluation of stool analyzer LJ2000 on fecal occult blood

2012
Objective To evaluate the detecting performance of stool analyzer LJ2000 on fecal occult blood. Methods The performance of stool analyzer LJ2000 was evaluated in sensitivity, specificity, detection limits and interference factors, and cross pollution on detecting fecal occult blood.Fecal occult blood of 600 clinical hemafecia cases were tested by manual method and stool analyzer LJ2000,and the positive rates were compared. Results There was no significant difference of sensitivity, specificity, detection limits and interference factors between manual method and stool analyzer LJ2000.However,the positive rate of fecal occult blood by stool analyzer was higher than the manual method(P0.05).Cross contamination test showed that the fecal occult blood of the first one or continuous two normal hemafecia cases behind the hemafecia cases containing Hb(≥800μg/ mL) were positive. Conclusions There was no significant difference of sensitivity, specificity, detection limits, and interference factors between manual method and stool analyzer LJ2000.Specimens will have cross contamination when the concentrations of Hb in hemafecia cases were equal to or higher than 800μg/mL.
