Treatment of type III prostatitis (type of qi stagnation and blood stasis) with umbilical therapy combining suppository in 80 cases

Objective To review the curative effect and safety of Dinggui San applied on umbilicus combining Qianlie ’ an Shuan on type Ⅲ prostatitis (type of qi stagnation and blood stasis). Methods The patients (n=160) were,accordingtomulti-centeredandstandardizedcontrolledmethod,dividedintoDingguiSancombiningQianlie ’ an Shuan group (group A) and Qianlie ’an Shuan group (group B). One particle of Qianlie ’ an Shuan was intruded into anus before sleeping, and Dinggui San [Dingxiang (Flos Caryophylli, 0.3 g) and Rougui (Cortex Cinnamomi,1g)] mixed well with rice vinegar and applied on umbilicus once a day for 4 weeks. The curative effect was reviewed by using NIH-CPSI and TCM syndrome scoring, and adverse reactions were recorded at the same time. Results The results of NIH-CPSI showed that the total effective rate was 83.8% in group A and 68.4% in group B (P0.05). The results of TCM syndrome scoring showed that the total effective rate was 78.4% in group A and 64.5% in group B (P0.05). There were no adverse reactions observed. Conclusion Dinggui San applied on umbilicus combining Qianlie ’an Shuan is safe and effective to type Ⅲ prostatitis (type of qi stagnation and blood stasis).
