Pressure measurement on hcp solid3He in magnetic fields

1994
Abstract Pressure measurements have been made in hcp solid 3 He down to 1 mK in magnetic fields up to 0.16 T and for molar volumes of 18.90, 19.16, and 19.45 cm 3 /mol. The measurements show that the pressure in magnetic fields is thermodynamically consistent with reported values for the Weiss temperature deduced from nuclear magnetization. The pressure at zero field, however, has smaller volume dependence than the pressure in magnetic fields.
