Catalytic transformations of alkylfurans on cationic forms of zeolitesr

1975
1. It was discovered that zeolites of the A, X, Y, and synthetic mordenite type, which contain sodium, calcium or cerium cations, are cataiytically active in the hydrogenation of the furan ring. 2. The most active catalysts in both the hydrogenation and hydrogenolysis of the furan ring are zeolites NaA and NaM, while amorphous aluminosilicate does not exhibit catalytic activity under analogous conditions.
