Start-up and operation of biogas plant and practice in large-scale cattle farm.

The start-up process of large-scale biogas plant was studied in this paper.A upflow solid reactor(USR) of 1 000 m3 in effective volume is used to contain the biogas slurry produced from stable biogas producing process,the reactor operated for 55 d under the following conditions: the temperature is(35±1) ℃,the pH value is 7.0～8.0 and the HRT is 15 d,for the stable start-up of the biogas digester,it has undergone the stages of hydraulic load increasing,organic load increasing and steady operation.After the start-up,the removal rate of COD could reach 80%,the volumetric gas producing rate was 1.43 m3/(m3·d),the methane content reached over 65%,and the VS degradation rate reached to 40% or above.
