Wavefront reversal of pulsed CO2 laser radiation by a surface

1983
The feasibility of using mirrors with a variable reflection coefficient for wavefront reversal was demonstrated at the wavelength of 10.6 μ. The reversed wave was generated by reflection from a mirror formed as a result of profiled evaporation of a selenium film on a copper substrate. The coefficient of reflection into the reversed wave reached ~45% (of the total energy). The results of theoretical calculations were found to be in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data.
