Enalapril-induced lichen planus-like eruption

1995
evidence to suggest hat it represents a cell-mediated hypersensitivity reaction to an antigen.(j It is unclear how suramin may mount and direct a cellular immune reaction in the skin. In our patient, despite steroid therapy, suramin may have been involved in the immune response, inducing the lesions of erythema multiforme. Other causes of erythema multiforme would be unlikely, although they cannot entirely be ruled out. Allopurinol would not be a likely precipitat;;lg factor because the patient had been taking it for 2% years without any cutaneous eruption. Other medications and infectious processes are likewise not probable causative factors. REFERENCES
