The invention discloses a method and a device for measuring thermal resistance of a light emitting diode (LED) by a pn junction. In the method for measuring the LED thermal resistance by the pn junction, the LED is a high-power LED; and the method is characterized in that: the high-power LED comprises a schottky diode for measuring the temperature of a core of the high-power LED, and the schottkydiode and the high-power LED are in the same device; and when the high-power LED is assembled into a lamp, the temperature of a radiating plate is measured by a thermoelectric couple, the temperatureof the core of the high-power LED is measured by the schottky diode, and the temperature attribution of the lamp and the thermal resistance of the LED are obtained through analysis and calculation. The method and the device can be used for precisely measuring the thermal resistance of the LED.
