Media medicine. -editorial-
2002
The author discusses problems arising from the general public's ready acceptance of unevaluated medical management practices. While the medical profession are increasingly expected to practise the highest levels of evidence based medicine, the general public seem more willing to adopt new wonder drugs and miracle treatments on the basis of a magazine article or television program. Suggestions are presented for various ways to approach this problem. (non-author abstract)
