Elliptical or acicular polymer particles and a method of manufacturing the same

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elliptic or needle-like polymer particle capable of enhancing an optical characteristic such as light diffusability and light convergency, a frictional characteristic such as slidability, and the like, and having a high aspect ratio. SOLUTION: This elliptic or needle-like polymer particle has fine irregularity on a surface, and the aspect ratio P 1 satisfies P 1 ≥1.8, where P 1 =major diameter L 1 /minor diameter D 1 is calculated based on the major diameter L 1 in a projection two-dimensional diagram obtained by emitting light from a direction orthogonal to an major-axial direction of the particle, and based on a minor diameter D 1 therein.
