EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF MECHANICAL PARAMETERS OF LEAD-RUBBER BEARING BY FOR NONLINEAR DYNAMIC ANALYSIS

2004
Horizontal dynamic tests on lead-rubber bearings were conducted. The relations among the mechanical properties, the structural dimensions and the dynamic load applied on the lead-rubber bearing are identified. It is found that the properties such as characteristic strength, horizontal energy consumption, initial stiffness, yield strength and hardening ratio are mainly dependent upon the structural geometry and material ingredients. In addition, the properties are found to be stable during loading and unloading loops. Some regression formulae are established based on the analysis of test data and statistics. These formulae is not only useful for design but also helpful in evaluation of the parameters in nonlinear dynamic analysis of lead-rubber bearings.
