Frequency of Erectile Dysfunction in Males with Central Serous Chorioretinopathy

ABSTRACTObjectives: To evaluate the frequency of sexual dysfunction and associated factors in patients with central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR). Material and methods: Fifty-eight CSCR patients who met the inclusion criteria and 99 age- and sex-matched healthy controls were prospectively investigated for sexual dysfunction and associated factors. All participants were investigated using the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Scale (BAS), and the15-question Index of Erectile Function-15 (IIEF-15) and by extensive examination of CSCR, associated factors, and confounding factors. Results: The mean ages of the patient and control groups were 46.95±11.27 and 45.3±10.93 years, respectively (p=0.370). The erectile function, orgasmic function, sexual desire, sexual satisfaction, and overall sexual satisfaction scores of the patient group were significantly lower than those of the control group (p<0.001).
