REACTOR TESTS OF MARK I STR PROTOTYPE NUCLEAR INSTRUMENTS

Experiments performed in the CP-2 and CP-3 reactors of the Argorne National Laboratory with two enriched B/sup 10/F/sub 3/ proportional neutron counters and two enriched U/sup 235/ fission counters are reported. The data indicate the necessity for withdrawal of these instruments from instrument thimbles when operating the reactor in the power range. A comparison is made of the sensitivity of the two types of instruments. (auth)
