STUDI TENTANG PERUBAHAN KONDISI CUACA DALAM HUBUNGAN DENGAN TERJADINYA TANAH LONGSOR DI TASIKMALAYA PADA TANGGAL 14 DESEMBER 1997

The continuous rain in West Java, particularly around Tasikmalaya has caused natural disaster, among others are successive landslide on December 14, 1997 and January 4, 1998. On December 1997, the wet west wind blows in Indonesia on promotes the exessive rain from the evaporation source in Indian ocean. Tasikmalaya region has a hilly topography with steep slope and lose soil, this condition will lead to high potential of land slide. Through NOAA (NAtional Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) satellite images it is possible to evaluate the weather condition on December 12, 13, and 14, 1997. The result convective cloud formation on December 12 until 14, 1997 around TAsikmalaya is the correlated to precipitation depth comentionally recorded by BMG
