The overhead crane is the important processing equipment of industrial production,widely applied in manufacturing,building,metallurgy,electric power,material circulation.With the increase of service period and use frequency,the car-rail and crane-rail of overhead cranes will have different degrees of gnawed rail phenomenon.With the method of quantitative analysis by different detection instruments,reasonable repair,quality control of maintenance,installation,debugging process,and appropriate follow-up service,we can improve the operating condition of gnawed car-rail and crane-rail of overhead cranes,prolong the service life of the cranes,give full play to its use efficiency.The paper presents the analysis to the principle theory of gnawed rail phenomenon,and the advices about the construction scheme and rectification measures of mainte nance and repair.
