Calculation of the zinc distribution in ZnyCd1−yTe crystals grown from non-stoichiometric melts

Abstract Crystallization curves for Zn y Cd 1− y Te crystals, grown from Te-rich and (Zn + Cd)-rich melts, were calculated for the starting composition of the solid Zn 0.1 Cd 0.9 Te, at various starting temperatures. The curves were calculated, using the model of regular associated solutions, by numerical integration of the differential equations describing the material balance between the liquid and solid phases at a given fraction of crystallized material.
