Quantification of low frequency magnetic field in living environment

2011
This paper reports results of two kinds of field surveys of low frequency magnetic field in living environments. One is field characteristics generated by household appliances which are clearly specified as field sources. Resultant magnetic field was measured as a function of distance for more than two hundred household appliances. The other is field characteristics in living environments, where field sources are difficult to be specified in general. Magnetic field was recorded during daily activities with carrying a field meter on waist of a subject. By analyzing data obtained, cumulative probability distributions of magnetic fields on some locations such as at homes, in train carriages and in offices were evaluated.
