Neutron and magnetization studies of the coexistence of superconductivity and magnetism in HoMo6S8 single crystals

Abstract Neutron diffraction, magnetization and susceptibility measurements on single crystals of HoMo 6 S 8 are reported. The long period modulated phase occuring between 0.60 K T T = 0.10 K) and the ferromagnetic phase ( T 3+ ground state is found to be a well isolated | J z =±〉 doublet (Δ>100 K) with strong anitsotropy.
