Methods: PDas diagnosed using the index PIP. he genetic polymorphismas analyzed by polymerase chain reaction folloed by cleavageith restriction enzyme Rsa I. Results: he study included 66 elderly (mean age: 68 ± 5.02 years), 63.3% female gender and 36.4% male. he elderly harboring AA genotype or A alleleere sig- he elderly harboring AA genotype or A alleleere sig- nificantly associatedith severe PD, according to c2 test (p<0.05), suggesting that this genotype or allele may be a genetic factor leading to chronic susceptibi- lity of PD. Conclusions: he genetic polymorphism at position -627 of the IL-10 gene may influence the PD severity in the elderly.
