Estimates of CO2 Storage Capacity in Oil Fields of the Plains CO2 Reduction (PCOR) Partnership Region

Results generated by a volumetric estimation method indicate'that there may 6e over I0 billion tons of COz storage capaciQ in the 1901 evaluated oil fields of the Witliston, Powder River, and Denver Julesberg basins. Results of EOR-based evaluations for the selected fields in the three basins suggest that over 700 million tons of CO2 could be sequestered, possibly resulting in more than 1.4 bitlion barrels Q2i; 106 *t1 oTircrn*ental oil production.
