Circuit FMEA Method by Fault Simulation Based on Saber

Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is an important reliability analysis method, and widely used in the field of aerospace. However, because it is qualitative and experience-based, there are many problems when using it, such as difficulty in analysis and the accuracy of analysis results. In order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of FMEA for circuit, this paper presents a fault simulation method, which is based on the circuit simulation software Saber. First, a model of the normal circuit is established and simulated by Saber. Subsequently, a fault model corresponding to the circuit component failure mode is established, and then the fault model circuit is simulated. By comparing the results of fault simulation with the simulation results of the normal circuit, the fault influence is obvious. The method of fault simulation based on Saber for circuit FMEA solves the problem of information gap or wrong filling caused by designer experience-based FMEA, and improves the intelligent level of FMEA process.
